Pets are one of the most important features in Coin Master. When fed and active, pets boost your earnings and defend your structures against enemy attacks. Across my 6 years of playing Coin Master and testing pet leveling curves across 250 villages, I have learned that mismanaging pet food is one of the quickest ways to stall your progress.
This guide explains how each pet works, how to unlock all three companion animals, and how to allocate your Pet XP efficiently.
Overview of Coin Master Pets
1. Foxy (The Raid Companion)
- Unlock Requirement: Reaching Village Level 4.
- Special Ability: Digs a 4th hole during Raids. Normally, players can only choose 3 of 4 raid spots. Foxy digs the final spot to guarantee you claim 100 percent of available raid coins.
- Best Used For: Main raid events and high multiplier spinning sessions. Detailed multiplier tactics can be found in our spin multiplier guide.
2. Tiger (The Attack Companion)
- Unlock Requirement: Completing the "Beasts" Card Collection Set.
- Special Ability: Increases coin payouts whenever you land an Attack on an enemy village structure.
- Best Used For: Attack Madness events where event points and coin bonuses stack on hammer hits. Learn tactical target selection in our Raid vs Attack guide.
3. Rhino (The Shield Companion)
- Unlock Requirement: Completing the "Creatures" Card Collection Set.
- Special Ability: Acts as a mobile shield with a percentage chance to block incoming attacks when your regular shield meter is empty.
- Best Used For: Protecting your village when you have unspent coins or low shields. Use card completion strategies from our Joker Card guide to finish the "Creatures" set faster.
How to Level Up Pets with Pet XP
Pets start with low base stats, but feeding them Pet XP Potions permanently increases their performance percentage:
- Level 1 Foxy: Provides 15% extra coins from the 4th raid hole.
- Level 100 Foxy: Provides over 100% bonus coins from raid digging.
Earn Pet XP by completing event milestones, opening Viking Quest chests, and finishing card collections.
Pet Food and Feeding Strategy
Pets must be fed to stay awake and active:
- Daily Free Treat (15 Minutes): The game gives you 1 free 15-minute treat every 24 hours. Save this treat for short, fast spinning sessions.
- Standard Pet Food (4 Hours): Standard pet food jars keep your pet active for 4 continuous hours. Use these during major event pushes.
- Sleeping Pets: When pet energy reaches zero, pets fall asleep and provide zero bonuses. Always check your pet timer before starting a high multiplier session.
Which Pet Should You Focus On First?
Always prioritize Foxy first. Raids yield significantly larger coin sums than attacks in middle and high-tier villages. Leveling Foxy to Level 50+ guarantees massive payouts every time you land 3 Pig symbols.
